The 24th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will be released on Friday, October 30, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer the funds from Banaskantha in Gujarat to the bank accounts of more than 9.34 crore farmers across the country. In Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, approximately 3.64 lakh farmers are expected to receive the instalment.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers will receive Rs 2,000 in their bank accounts. However, payments may be withheld for farmers whose e-KYC or other mandatory verification procedures remain incomplete.
The number of farmers expected to benefit from the PM Kisan scheme in Ambedkar Nagar has increased compared with the previous instalment.
According to Agriculture Department data, 3,50,715 farmers in the district received the previous instalment, released on June 20, 2026.
This time, the number of expected beneficiaries stands at approximately 3.64 lakh. This represents an increase of around 14,000 farmers compared with the previous instalment.
A total of 4,22,721 farmers are registered on the Agriculture Department's portal in the district. However, registration does not automatically guarantee payment of the instalment. According to departmental information, e-KYC remains incomplete for some farmers, while the farmer registry and other verification procedures are pending for others.
The Agriculture Department has advised eligible farmers to update and correct their information in time to avoid disruptions in the payment of the scheme's benefits.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 24th instalment of the PM Kisan scheme at an event in Banaskantha district of Gujarat.
According to the central government, more than Rs 18,690 crore is scheduled to be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of more than 9.34 crore farmers across the country.
The Prime Minister will visit projects related to the animal husbandry and agriculture sectors in Banaskantha in the morning. Following the visits, he will release the PM Kisan instalment at a programme and address farmers.
Arrangements have been made for the live telecast of the programme at the Agriculture Building and block auditoriums in Ambedkar Nagar. According to Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr Ashwini Kumar Singh, farmers will also be provided information about the Khet Bachao Abhiyan during the programme.
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, eligible farmer families receive annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
Farmers must complete certain mandatory formalities to receive financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. These include e-KYC, verification of land records and submission of correct bank account details.
Farmers may face payment-related difficulties if their Aadhaar is not linked to their bank accounts, there are issues with DBT payments or their e-KYC remains pending.
The government has made e-KYC mandatory under the scheme. Farmers can complete OTP-based e-KYC through the official PM Kisan portal using their Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers. Biometric verification is also available at authorised Common Service Centres.
Farmers can check the status of their instalment by visiting the official PM Kisan website.
On the homepage, they need to go to the Farmers Corner section and select the Know Your Status option. After entering their registration number and the required details, farmers can check their payment status.
Those who do not remember their registration number can use the Know Your Registration Number facility available on the portal.
The status section provides information about e-KYC, eligibility and payment details. If any discrepancy appears in the records, farmers can contact the concerned Agriculture Department office or an authorised service centre to have it corrected.
Farmers who are eligible under the scheme but do not receive the payment despite completing all mandatory formalities can register a complaint.
The PM Kisan portal provides an online grievance facility. Farmers can visit the PM Kisan grievance portal, enter their registration number and report their payment-related issues. They can also use the facility to track the status of their complaints.
According to the departmental contact details provided, farmers can call the helpline number 011-23381092 to report their problems. They can also send an email to [email protected]. However, the current availability of these contact details could not be independently confirmed. Therefore, using the official online grievance portal is a more reliable option.
Farmers should also note that payment information may take some time to be updated in their bank accounts after the instalment is released. They should check their bank accounts and payment status on the PM Kisan portal before filing a complaint.

Cyclone Arnab intensified over coastal Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, October 28, disrupting normal life with heavy rainfall and strong winds. Several roads have been inundated, while fallen trees and damaged power lines have affected movement and electricity supplies across multiple districts. Police in Kakinada rescued four people trapped by floodwaters.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Arnab began crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast at around 1:20 am on Wednesday. The storm's centre was very close to the coastline, south of Yanam. Information issued at around 5:30 am indicated that the landfall process was still underway.
The IMD said the cyclone was moving in a northwesterly direction, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds to coastal areas.
During landfall, sustained wind speeds were forecast to reach 125–135 kmph, with gusts potentially reaching 150 kmph for short periods.
The effects of rain and strong winds had been visible in Visakhapatnam since Tuesday. On Wednesday, several large trees fell in different parts of the city, disrupting movement.
Road closures were reported along Beach Road and in the Seethammadhara area following tree falls. A tree was also reported to have been uprooted near Andhra University College of Engineering for Women.
Power lines were damaged in some parts of the city. Waterlogging on roads has created difficulties for motorists. Amid strong winds, residents have been avoiding unnecessary travel outside their homes.
The cyclone's impact has been reported in Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema and Visakhapatnam districts. Continuous rainfall has caused waterlogging in low-lying areas.
District officials in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Konaseema and West Godavari have also reported strong winds and heavy rainfall. Fallen trees have caused localised damage in some areas.
High waves have also been reported in the sea off Gopalpur, in Odisha's Ganjam district. Strong winds and rainfall have continued to affect weather conditions in the area.
Four people were surrounded by floodwaters in the Bombay Katta area of Kakinada district. They had arrived at the location for work in the morning but were unable to leave after heavy rainfall and seawater inundated the area.
After remaining trapped until night, they informed the police about their situation. A police team reached the location after receiving the information and launched a rescue operation.
Separately, three people were reported to be trapped inside the CWC warehouses at Kakinada Anchorage Port in the same district. Rainwater and seawater had entered the premises, resulting in a complete power outage.

The Supreme Court will hear petitions related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls on Tuesday, October 27. The petitions question the functioning of the Election Commission of India and decisions concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In an affidavit filed ahead of the hearing, the commission rejected the allegations, stating that decisions related to the SIR were approved with the consent of all three election commissioners.
On October 12, 11 opposition leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, jointly filed a petition in the Supreme Court questioning the Election Commission's functioning and the process of adding and deleting names from electoral rolls.
The petitioners also include Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, Trinamool Congress leader Saugata Roy, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader M.A. Baby and Communist Party of India leader D. Raja.
Other petitioners include Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Mahua Maji, Supriya Sule of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) and E.T. Mohammed Basheer of the Indian Union Muslim League.
The leaders have asked the court to summon files and records relating to the Election Commission's disputed decisions. They have also sought an interim stay on the SIR process.
On Monday, October 26, the Election Commission filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court denying allegations that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had taken decisions unilaterally.
According to the affidavit, SIR-related orders issued on June 24, 2025, October 27, 2025, and May 14, 2026, were approved with the consent of all three members of the commission.
The affidavit states that, under normal circumstances, files pass through both election commissioners before reaching the chief election commissioner. In urgent matters, approval is obtained electronically and subsequently recorded in the relevant file.
The commission also stated that the allegations in the petition were based primarily on a newspaper report. It argued that the claims did not provide sufficient grounds for the case and sought dismissal of the petition.
The opposition has also raised questions about changes to Form 6, which is used for voter registration. The Election Commission has stated that no legal amendment has been made to the form.
According to the commission, the additional declaration sought during the SIR process is separate from Form 6. Its purpose is to match information provided by applicants or their family members with older electoral rolls.
The commission acknowledged that the way the two documents were displayed during the online application process could have caused confusion. Consequently, it decided to separate the two documents in the online process from October 21.
The Election Commission has clarified that voters whose records cannot be matched with older electoral rolls will not ordinarily need to be summoned to an office for a personal hearing.
Instead, Booth Level Officers will visit their homes to collect the necessary documents. Hearings will be conducted only in special circumstances, with online hearings to be used wherever possible.
The commission has also stated that a voter's name cannot be added to or deleted from the electoral roll without an order from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear several cases related to the SIR process together. The principal issues include the role of the chief election commissioner, the Election Commission's collective decision-making process and the rules governing the deletion of names from electoral rolls.
The opposition leaders are seeking judicial scrutiny of the commission's decisions, while the commission has maintained that its procedures comply with the applicable rules.
The court will consider the arguments presented by both sides and determine the further course of proceedings in the petitions concerning the electoral roll revision process.
