Stock Market Today: India's stock market witnessed a spectacular opening on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex surged by over 1500 points, while the Nifty 50 index crossed the 23,350 mark for the first time. This sharp rise led to an increase of ₹5 lakh crore in investor wealth in a mere 10 seconds.

Significant Surge in Sensex and Nifty

The BSE Sensex opened at 76,852.06, marking a gain of 1600 points compared to its Friday closing of 75,157. By 9:20 AM, it was trading at 76,672, showing a rise of 1515 points.

Meanwhile, the NSE's Nifty 50 index reached 23,368, a surge of 539 points.

Record Increase in Investor Wealth

Immediately after market opening, investor wealth increased by ₹5.64 lakh crore. The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies rose from ₹402.34 lakh crore to ₹407.99 lakh crore.

Positive Signals from the US

The Dow Jones experienced a 0.78% increase on Monday, closing at 40,524.79. The Nasdaq rose by 0.64% to 16,831.48, and the S&P 500 index jumped 0.79% to close at 5,405.97. This created a positive sentiment among global investors.

Asian Market Performance

Japan's Nikkei rose by 1.18%, and South Korea's KOSPI increased by 0.51%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 also saw a 0.38% rise.

Impact of Trump's Tariff Moratorium

Former President Donald Trump announced a 90-day moratorium on new import tariffs. This provided relief to global trade, positively impacting the Indian market.
