Gold and Silver Prices: Monday saw fluctuations in gold and silver prices. The price of 24-karat gold increased from ₹85,056 to ₹85,320 per 10 grams. Silver also saw a slight increase, rising from ₹93,480 to ₹94,398 per kilogram. New prices will be announced at 12 PM on Tuesday, potentially leading to further market fluctuations.

Nationwide Gold Price Increase

Gold prices have increased nationwide. The price of both 22-karat and 24-karat gold has risen in major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Jaipur. Experts attribute this to international market fluctuations and the impact of the rupee's value against the dollar on the Indian market.

What is Hallmarking and How to Identify It?

Checking for hallmarking is essential when buying gold, as it guarantees purity. While 22-karat gold has a purity of 91.6%, adulteration can sometimes reduce it to 89% or 90%. The hallmark code identifies its purity.

Hallmarks typically indicate 999 for 24-karat, 916 for 22-karat, and 750 for 18-karat gold. For a 22-karat piece, multiplying the karat value (22) by 24 and then dividing by 24 will determine the percentage purity.

Keep an Eye on Gold and Silver Prices

Those considering investing in gold or silver should monitor market fluctuations. Gold prices have shown an upward trend recently, increasing investor interest. Prices may rise further in the coming days, so it's advisable to check for the latest updates before investing.
