Indian Railways has set a new record in digital ticket booking. On May 22, 2025, a staggering 31,814 tickets were booked in just 60 seconds. This achievement is a testament to the railway's new technological initiatives and the success of its AI-based Anti-BOT system.
Railway: Indian Railways has once again proven that with the right application of technology, even the largest systems can be made transparent and efficient. On May 22, 2025, the railway set a new national record by booking 31,814 tickets in just 60 seconds. This historic feat was made possible by the railway's cutting-edge technological advancements, a faster server network, and an AI-based Anti-BOT security system. This is not only a significant step towards the digitalization of the railways but also indicates a qualitative improvement in the facilities for millions of passengers.
The Technological Revolution Behind 60-Second Bookings
The Ministry of Railways confirmed that around 10:00 AM on May 22nd, when Tatkal booking opened, a record 31,814 tickets were booked via the IRCTC portal in just one minute. This figure demonstrates that the railway's digital infrastructure is now ber, faster, and more responsive than ever before. Issues such as website crashes, page loading failures, and unsuccessful ticket bookings, which were previously common during Tatkal booking, have now been virtually eliminated.
What is Anti-BOT Technology?
Indian Railways has implemented an AI-based Anti-BOT system to make the ticketing system more secure and transparent. The most significant feature of this technology is its ability to identify and immediately block fraudulent logins, automated software bookings (bots), and ticket manipulation by agents.
According to railway data, previously, more than 50% of logins during Tatkal ticket openings were from bots, making it nearly impossible for genuine passengers to book tickets. After the implementation of the new system, a reduction of over 80% in these fraudulent activities has been recorded.
Priority to Aadhaar-Linked Accounts
Under the Anti-BOT system, accounts linked to Aadhaar cards are now given special priority. The aim is to benefit genuine users, not agents or brokers. This step is not only effective from a technological standpoint but is also socially commendable as it directly benefits ordinary passengers. Dependence on intermediaries has decreased, and passengers now have greater confidence and convenience in booking tickets themselves.
Strong Action Against Fake IDs and Agent Networks
Over the past years, the railway has deactivated a large number of fake IDs, agent accounts, and bot networks. This has made the booking process more transparent. Passengers can now book tickets themselves from their mobile phones or computers in minutes—without any agents or extra charges. The Ministry of Railways states that this campaign will continue, and the system will be updated periodically to block new forms of bots.
Technological Partnerships to Increase Speed
IRCTC has partnered with Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and other major internet infrastructure companies, resulting in a dramatic improvement in website loading speed during bookings. The website now remains stable even during high traffic, and real-time processing has made ticket booking faster and more reliable than ever before.
