New Delhi: The central government has introduced the Registration Bill 2025 to fully digitize the property registration process. If passed, this bill will replace the 1908 Registration Act and enable online property registration from the convenience of one's home. This will make the registration process faster, easier, and more time-efficient.
Changes in Registration
India's current property registration law, the Registration Act, 1908, is decades old, resulting in a lengthy and paperwork-intensive registration process. This not only wastes time but also forces people to endure long queues at government offices.
Keeping this problem in mind, the government drafted the Registration Bill 2025, aiming to fully digitize and online the registration process. After this bill's implementation, all property registration formalities can be completed from home.
