Microsoft is soon bringing good news for its users. Microsoft Office will soon be available without any membership or subscription. Reports suggest the company is testing a free version of its Office suite, allowing users to create and edit documents without charge.
Full Access Without Subscription
Until now, using Microsoft Office required a Microsoft 365 subscription with monthly or annual charges. However, this new free version will let people create and edit documents without any subscription.
A free version of Microsoft Office! But expect ads and some feature limitations.
Microsoft's new free version will allow users to utilize Word, Excel, and PowerPoint without a subscription, but with certain conditions. Media reports indicate users will view short ads when opening or editing documents. Muted, 15-second ads may appear every few hours.
Furthermore, documents created in the free version can only be saved to OneDrive; saving to a local computer will not be an option. Advanced features like add-ons, watermarking, and data analysis will also be unavailable.
How to Download the Free Version of Microsoft Office Without Spending Money
To use the free version of Microsoft Office, first download the setup from the official website. Then, open any Office app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and sign in. Click "Continue for Free" and select the "Save to OneDrive" option on the next screen.
Note that this free version isn't yet available to all users, as Microsoft is currently conducting a limited test. If you don't see the "Continue for Free" option, you will need to wait. The company may release a desktop version in the future, but currently there are no plans to launch an ad-supported free desktop application.
