Crime News: Violence has once again struck the Premnagar area of Dehradun, where local BJP leader Rohit Negi was shot dead. The incident occurred near Peepal Chowk in Manduwala after midnight on Monday. Preliminary investigations suggest a dispute over a female friend as the primary motive. Police have launched a search for the accused, Ajhar Tyagi, a resident of Muzaffarnagar (UP).

The Full Story of the Incident

According to reports, 22-year-old Rohit Negi, involved in property dealing, was returning home with friends when Ajhar Tyagi, riding a motorcycle, appeared in front of their car and shot him in the neck. Negi fell to the ground and was immediately taken to a hospital by his friends, where he was pronounced dead.

Dispute Over a Female Friend

It has been learned that one of Rohit's friends was involved with a young woman from the Muslim community, with whom they were living together. This relationship angered Ajhar Tyagi, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, who harbored resentment against Rohit. This dispute had been ongoing for some time, culminating in the tragic incident.

Tyagi allegedly used a pretext to lure Rohit and then committed the crime. Given the sensitivity of the incident, police are conducting a thorough investigation.

SP City Pramod Shah stated that CCTV footage from the area is being examined. Police have formed four teams to intensify the search for Ajhar Tyagi. A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections based on a complaint filed by Abhishek Bartwal, a friend of the deceased.

Police are investigating all aspects of the case to ascertain the true motives behind the murder and ensure the swift arrest of the culprits.
