In a recent interview, Sonakshi Sinha clarified that her marriage to Zaheer is based on love and mutual understanding, not religion. She stated: "We don't look at religion. Two people are in love and wanted to get married, so we did. Zaheer never imposed his religion on me, and I didn't on him. We don't discuss it. We simply understand and respect each other's cultures. I follow certain traditions from my home, and Zaheer respects my culture, just as I respect his."
"No Question of Religious Conversion!"
Sonakshi explained that they married under the Special Marriage Act, allowing them to retain their respective religions. She said: "The Special Marriage Act was the most suitable way for us. A Hindu woman doesn't need to convert, and a Muslim man can remain Muslim. It was never a question of whether I needed to change my religion. We love each other, and we got married."
Wedding Attended by Close Family and Friends Only
Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding was kept highly private, attended only by family and close friends. However, several Bollywood celebrities were also present.
