This week, two major films have captured audience attention at the Indian box office: Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan's "Kesari Chapter 2" and Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda's "Jaat." While "Kesari Chapter 2" debuted as a courtroom drama set against a historical backdrop, "Jaat" presented itself as an action-drama.

Box Office: Three major Bollywood films, "Kesari Chapter 2," "Jaat," and "Sikander," are currently in theaters across India. However, disappointingly, all three films are falling short of audience expectations. While the Good Friday release gave them an initial boost, and they received positive reviews from critics and audiences, the box office numbers haven't reflected the anticipated success.

Despite b action sequences and desi flair, "Jaat" hasn't made a significant impact at the box office. After 23 days, the film's momentum has slowed, and its box office hold is weakening. The most disappointing performance comes from Salman Khan's Eid release, "Sikander." Despite a star-studded cast and a festive release, "Sikander" failed to draw audiences to theaters and is now nearing the end of its theatrical run.

'Kesari Chapter 2': Slow Start and Challenges

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, "Kesari Chapter 2" opened with ₹7.75 crore on its first day. However, subsequent days saw a decline in earnings: ₹9.75 crore on the second day, ₹12 crore on the third, ₹4.5 crore on the fourth, and ₹4.75 crore on the fifth. The total five-day collection stands at ₹38.75 crore.

With a reported budget of approximately ₹150 crore, it's clear that "Kesari Chapter 2" has a long way to go to achieve hit status. Experts predict that if the film's performance continues on this trajectory, its lifetime collection might reach around ₹75 crore.

'Jaat': Steady Progress

Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda's "Jaat" had a b opening, earning ₹9.5 crore on its first day. The film maintained steady earnings in the following days: ₹7 crore on the second day, ₹9.75 crore on the third, ₹14 crore on the fourth, and ₹7.25 crore on the fifth. On its 13th day (second Tuesday), the film earned ₹2 crore, bringing its total collection to ₹78.25 crore.

With a budget of approximately ₹100 crore, the film is projected to soon join the 100 crore club, based on its performance. While weekday earnings have shown a slight dip, a resurgence is anticipated during the weekends.

'Sikander' Box Office Collection

The Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, Satyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi starrer "Sikander" is now in its final stages. On its 24th day (Tuesday), the film earned a mere ₹4 lakh, reflecting its declining popularity and limited showings in theaters.

The film's total domestic collection has reached ₹110.20 crore, while its worldwide gross collection is approximately ₹208.16 crore. Although the film performed well initially, it is now playing in only a limited number of cinemas, eliminating any possibility of a major box office surge.

Comparison: 'Kesari Chapter 2' vs. 'Jaat'

Comparing the two films, "Jaat" has outperformed "Kesari Chapter 2" at the box office. While "Kesari Chapter 2" experienced a decline in earnings after the first week, "Jaat" maintained stability. Experts believe that "Jaat's" action-packed and dramatic narrative attracted a wider audience, while "Kesari Chapter 2's" historical setting and courtroom drama genre appealed to a more niche audience.
