First Budget: Preparations for the 'Vikasit Delhi Budget'
The Delhi government's first budget, to be presented on March 25th, is titled the 'Vikasit Delhi Budget' (Developed Delhi Budget). This budget is expected to include significant announcements to strengthen education, healthcare, transportation, and infrastructure. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is engaged in discussions with officials, legislators, and various segments of society to finalize the budget.
Major Decisions in the First Cabinet Meeting
In its first cabinet meeting following the swearing-in ceremony on February 20th, the BJP government took significant decisions to implement its election promises. Approval for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana: The Delhi government decided to provide an additional ₹5 lakh health insurance coverage under this scheme, in addition to the ₹5 lakh insurance coverage provided by the central government. This will be implemented by April 10th.

'Mahila Samriddhi Yojana' Approved in the Second Cabinet Meeting
To empower women economically, the government approved the 'Mahila Samriddhi Yojana' (Women's Prosperity Scheme). Under this scheme, each eligible woman will receive ₹2,500 per month. A total budget of ₹5,100 crore has been allocated for this scheme. A ministerial team headed by the Chief Minister has been formed for effective implementation.

The government has set a target of cleaning the Yamuna River within three years. In the first phase, efforts are underway to remove waste from the Yamuna. This project will be implemented in mission mode with the cooperation of the central government. Simultaneously, work has begun to improve the condition of Delhi's roads. The accountability of officials and contractors has been defined to maintain the quality of construction works.
Steps towards making Delhi an e-bus city
The BJP government has promised to make Delhi an 'e-bus city'. Work in this direction has been expedited, and the arrival of new electric buses is expected from next month. A 'Summer Action Plan' has been prepared to ensure the supply of electricity and water during the summer months. This plan includes several measures to increase water availability, reduce power cuts, and promote water conservation.
