Following the announcement of the Delhi Assembly elections, security measures have been significantly enhanced. Seventy companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed, undertaking patrol duties to address any potential antisocial elements.

Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: Security Deployment The Ministry of Home Affairs has deployed 70 paramilitary force companies (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, Rajasthan Armed Force) to the Delhi Police. These forces have been assigned to the DCPs of 15 districts. A single company has been deployed in each assembly constituency, tasked with patrolling and controlling antisocial elements until the conclusion of the elections. Each company comprises approximately 130-140 personnel.

Monitoring of Alcohol and Money Distribution

The election cell has noted that alcohol and money distribution are common occurrences during elections. To counteract this, over 150 static and financial surveillance teams have been established. These teams will monitor alcohol hoarding and cash transactions. Additional police personnel will be provided from local police stations as needed.

Action Against Antisocial Elements

Actions have commenced to detain individuals released on bail and antisocial elements in all districts until the elections. Special arrangements are in place to apprehend criminals and enhance security in sensitive areas.

Mandatory Surrender of Licensed Weapons

The Joint Commissioner of Licensing Units has directed all DCPs to ensure the surrender of licensed weapons at relevant police stations until the completion of the elections.

Role and Reporting of Election Cells

Two election cells, led by the Joint Commissioner and DCPs, have been established to oversee election activities and report to the headquarters. District-level election cells have also been set up in each DCP office.

Oversight of Comprehensive Preparations

The Delhi Police has begun analyzing data from previous elections. Data is being collected on sensitive and highly sensitive booths, alcohol smuggling, and criminal activities to ensure the election process is conducted peacefully and fairly.

Various cultural programs are being organized at the local level to foster social harmony and raise awareness during the election process.
