Fadnavis Responds to Sanjay Raut's Claim: PM Modi to be Prime Minister for a Fourth Term in 2029

Maharashtra: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis dismissed speculation about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successor, stating that PM Modi will lead the nation for many years to come. Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis asserted that Prime Minister Modi will be elected for a fourth term in 2029. He added that discussing succession while the current leader is still active is against Indian culture and considered inappropriate.

Discussions about PM Modi's Successor are Premature

Fadnavis emphatically stated that there is no need to look for PM Modi's successor, as he is the undisputed leader of the nation. His leadership is crucial for the country, and he will continue to lead. CM Fadnavis also mentioned that discussing succession while Prime Minister Modi is alive is incorrect. He linked this to Mughal-era practices and deemed the current time unsuitable for such discussions.

Sanjay Raut's Claim and Fadnavis's Response

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut recently claimed that PM Modi's visit to the Nagpur-based RSS headquarters indicated his impending retirement. Raut suggested that the RSS felt a need for a change in the country's political leadership, connecting this to PM Modi's age of 75 and the retirement age within the BJP.

PM Modi's Historic Visit to RSS Headquarters

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the RSS headquarters for the first time on Sunday, marking his first visit since becoming Prime Minister. RSS leader Suresh 'Bhaiyaji' Joshi clarified that he was unaware of any discussions regarding the Prime Minister's replacement. The visit held significance as Modi presented India's timeless culture as a 'Banyan tree' during his address.
