Three workers killed, six injured in boiler explosion at a textile factory in Bhojpur, Ghaziabad.
Ghaziabad Boiler Blast: A major accident occurred on Thursday at a textile factory in Dateri village, Bhojpur police station area, Ghaziabad district, when a boiler exploded. Three workers died on the spot, while six others sustained injuries. Police and administration arrived at the scene immediately and initiated rescue operations.
Family Protests
Upon learning of the incident, the families of the deceased and injured arrived at the factory and staged a protest. They allege that the accident was due to negligence on the part of the factory management, claiming the workers were not provided with safety equipment. Angry relatives prevented the removal of the bodies, creating difficulties for the police. Seeing the situation escalate, the police administration summoned additional police force from nearby stations.
Authorities Appear Helpless
The police administration attempted to send the bodies for post-mortem, but were unsuccessful due to the family's protest. Police officers tried to pacify them, but appeared helpless against the angry relatives and villagers. Meanwhile, all the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Identification of Deceased, Administration Launches Investigation
Police identified the deceased as Anuj, Yogendra, and Avdesh. All three workers were residents of Jewar, Bhojpur, and Modinagar. Police have recorded statements from the injured and launched an investigation. Preliminary investigations suggest that the boiler was not properly maintained, leading to the accident.
Explosion Rocks the Area
According to eyewitnesses, the boiler explosion was so loud that its reverberations were heard far and wide. People from nearby villages also rushed to the scene after hearing the blast. A large number of people are still gathered at the site.
Following the accident, the Ghaziabad district administration has ordered an inquiry into the matter. A detailed investigation is underway to ascertain whether safety standards were followed in the factory.
