The Janata Dal United (JDU) will form committees at 92,000 booths with the consent of its Vidhan Sabha in-charges and district presidents. Each committee will comprise 10 members, selected considering their image and social standing.
Bihar Politics: Preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections have intensified. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a significant decision to strengthen the Janata Dal United's (JDU) base by establishing a booth-level organization. Under this strategy, committees are being formed at the state's 92,000 booths. This master plan is considered a crucial step towards strengthening the party at the grassroots level and gaining an edge in the upcoming elections.
Committee Formation with the Consent of District Presidents and Vidhan Sabha In-charges
The JDU has entrusted the responsibility of forming booth committees to Vidhan Sabha in-charges, district presidents, and senior party officials. All committees will be formed through local consensus and coordination. Strengthening the organization at the grassroots level is a key focus in every party meeting.
Mandatory 10-Member Committee at Each Booth
As per Nitish Kumar's instructions, each booth committee will have at least 10 members. These members will be selected based on their clean image and social acceptability. Prominent and influential individuals from the area will be prioritized to further strengthen the party's reach.
An Army of Committees for 92,000 Booths
Bihar has a total of 92,000 polling booths. The target is to establish committees at all these booths. However, committees have been formed at approximately 37,000 booths so far. The process will be expedited for the remaining booths soon.
Focus on Local Social Dynamics
Local social dynamics will be given top priority in the formation of booth committees. Individuals who are influential among the public will be included, keeping in mind caste and social balance. Special emphasis will be placed on increasing the participation of young people to infuse new energy into the party.
Continuous Feedback from Headquarters
The JDU state headquarters will regularly monitor the progress of committee formation. All Vidhan Sabha in-charges have been instructed to share regular reports on the formation of booth committees. This will allow for continuous monitoring of the organization's reach and strategy.
Meetings with Booth Committees
Phased meetings will also be held with the members of the booth committees. These meetings will assign organizational tasks and gather feedback. This process will help further strengthen the party's grassroots presence.
