Darshan to Remain Closed for 43 Hours
Shyam Singh Chauhan, minister of the Khatu Shyam Temple Committee, informed that due to the Holi festival and the Tilak ceremony, the temple will remain closed for devotees from 10 PM on March 13th to 5 PM on March 15th. During this time, special prayers and worship will be offered to Baba Shyam. Following a centuries-old tradition, the Surajgarh Nishan (flag) was installed atop Baba Shyam's shrine. This Nishan spreads the message of Baba's glory in all four directions throughout the year and holds special significance for devotees.
2 Million Devotees Visited the Fair This Year
According to the temple committee, approximately 2 million devotees participated in the 12-day fair this year. However, this is 1 million less than last year. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm of Shyam devotees was remarkable. The administration and temple committee made robust security arrangements this year. The deployment of additional police ensured a peaceful fair. However, many devotees are still staying in Khatu Dham and will depart only after celebrating Holi.
Even after the conclusion of the Falguni Lakkhi fair, the devotion towards Baba Shyam remains unwavering. Devotees now eagerly await next year's fair, when they will again come to pay their respects at Baba's court.
