Locals Condemn Pahalgam Terrorist Attack with Candlelight Marches Across Kashmir. Mosques Announce Attackers as Enemies of Islam and Kashmiriyat.

Terror Attack: Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, locals bly protested and condemned the attackers through candlelight marches. Unity was displayed across Kashmir, from south to north, with the attack being denounced as an act against Islam and Kashmiriyat. Mosque loudspeakers announced that the attackers were enemies of Kashmiriyat.

Kashmir-Wide Protest and Solidarity

On Tuesday evening, after Isha prayers, almost all mosques in Kashmir broadcast messages condemning the attack in Beasaran. Locals were urged to participate in a Kashmir-wide shutdown and demonstrate their opposition to the attackers. Simultaneously, condolences were expressed for the victims of the Beasaran attack.

Participants in the candlelight marches carried slogans such as "We stand for peace" and "Tourists are our guests." Young people, shopkeepers, hotel owners, and other local citizens participated. These marches took place in Pulwama, Budgam, Shopian, Srinagar, and also in northern Kashmir areas like Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara.

27 Killed in the Attack

The terrorist attack in the Beasaran area of Pahalgam resulted in the deaths of 27 people, including a woman. On Tuesday, five terrorists entered a resort and opened fire on tourists. Reports indicate the terrorists first asked tourists their names and religions before shooting them. The terrorists escaped into the nearby jungle after the attack.

According to security officials, the attack lasted approximately 20-25 minutes and targeted one of Kashmir's largest tourist destinations. Fear and unrest gripped the region following the incident.

Societal Unity and Appeal for Peace

The attacks were viewed as being against the peace of Kashmir and Kashmiriyat. Local people and mosque imams bly condemned the attack and called on everyone to raise their voices against the enemies of Islam and Kashmiriyat. People supported the Kashmir shutdown to express their sympathy for the victims' families.
