Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nagpur on March 30th to attend a program at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters. He will share a stage with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur later this month. This visit has drawn significant attention from political analysts. PM Modi's Nagpur trip is scheduled for March 30th, the first day of the Hindu New Year. During this visit, he will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for Madhav Netralaya, an RSS-supported initiative. It is anticipated that Prime Minister Modi may also visit the Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan in Resham Bagh and Deekshabhoomi.

Participation in Madhav Netralaya Groundbreaking Ceremony

Prime Minister Modi will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for 'Madhav Netralaya,' an RSS-supported initiative in Nagpur. This eye hospital will be equipped with modern medical facilities and will provide accessible ophthalmic services to those in need. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will also be present. Sources suggest that during this visit, PM Modi may also visit the 'Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan' in Resham Bagh and 'Deekshabhoomi.' Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan is the samadhi (memorial) of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, while Deekshabhoomi is the place where Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar embraced Buddhism.

RSS's Centenary and Growing Political Importance

The RSS was founded by Dr. Hedgewar on September 27, 1925, and will celebrate its centenary year in 2025. The Sangh is considered the largest volunteer organization in the country and has profoundly influenced Indian politics, particularly the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Many senior BJP leaders have an RSS background, and the organization has always been significant for the party.

PM Modi's visit is also considered politically significant. Following the 2024 general elections, discussions regarding the RSS's role in Maharashtra and national politics have intensified. Therefore, PM Modi's visit to the Sangh headquarters is seen as a move to further strengthen the Hindutva and nationalist agenda.
