PM Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday evening and, on this occasion, also flagged off the Indian Express train. This train has been specially designed to allow overseas Indian citizens to experience India's historical, religious, and cultural sites.
Contribution of Overseas Indians – The Theme of the Convention
This year's convention has the theme 'Contribution of Overseas Indians in Developed India'. Over 50 countries' overseas Indians are participating in the convention, which is being organized by the Odisha government in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10, 2025.
Grand Welcome for PM Modi in Bhubaneswar
Governor Hari Baboo Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and other dignitaries welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. Under tight security, Modi's convoy proceeded towards Raj Bhavan, with large crowds lining the roads to greet him. Cultural performances by local artists were also held, and the surrounding trees were adorned with colorful lights, creating a grand spectacle.
Inauguration of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express
Prime Minister Modi flagged off the Indian Express train remotely on this occasion. Departing from Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi, this train will travel to various tourist and religious sites across India for three weeks. The special train will operate under the Overseas Pilgrimage Scheme.
