Bihar's political landscape has once again heated up over the issue of a caste census. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, launched a direct attack on the central government and the BJP during a media interaction in Patna on Wednesday.

Caste Census: Bihar's former Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has once again sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the caste census. He stated that the BJP leadership is apprehensive about the revelation of the country's true picture, hence the strategy to delay the caste census.

'When the truth emerges, it will shake the politics of hate' - Tejashwi

Speaking to the media in Patna on Wednesday, Tejashwi Yadav said, "We, along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, went to Delhi and met the Prime Minister, demanding a caste census across the country. But PM Modi and the entire BJP are against it. They fear that when the country's true socio-economic picture emerges, the foundation of their Hindu-Muslim polarization politics will crumble."

Yadav also claimed that caste-based data helps governments in policy decisions and lays the foundation for genuine social justice. He believes that this data can lead to a better and more balanced implementation of schemes related to reservation, education, employment, and health.

Sharp criticism of Bihar's law and order situation

Describing the current NDA government in Bihar as 'helpless and directionless,' Tejashwi Yadav stated that crime is rampant in Bihar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is in a 'state of unconsciousness.' He noted that the Home Ministry falls under Kumar's purview, yet criminals roam freely, receiving protection from those in power. He accused leaders within the government of promoting corruption and concealing serious crimes, asserting that the state's law and order situation has completely collapsed.

In a sarcastic remark, Tejashwi Yadav said, "The government itself doesn't allow 20-year-old vehicles on the roads citing pollution, but the same government has become dilapidated. It's not producing any development; only spreading smoke and deceit."

Election Promises: 'Mai-Bahan Maan Yojana' and Free Electricity

With upcoming elections in mind, Tejashwi Yadav also clarified the RJD's agenda. He promised that if his party forms the government in the state:
Women will receive ₹2500 per month under the 'Mai-Bahan Maan Yojana'.
Old-age pensions will be increased.
200 units of free electricity will be provided to every household.
