Kashmir Vande Bharat Express: Now travel to paradise by train

Kashmir, one of India's most beautiful and sensitive regions, is now being connected by the Vande Bharat train service. This service begins June 7th, allowing passengers to travel from Katra to Srinagar via high-speed rail. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the project.

Two Vande Bharat trains will operate between Katra and Srinagar

  • According to the railway plan, initially two Vande Bharat trains will run between Katra and Srinagar.
  • The first train will depart Katra at 8:05 AM and arrive in Srinagar at 11:10 AM.
  • The second train will depart Katra at 2:50 PM and arrive in Srinagar at 6:00 PM.

For the return journey from Srinagar:

  • The first train will depart at 8:00 AM and arrive in Katra at 11:10 AM.
  • The second train will depart at 2:00 PM and arrive in Katra at 5:10 PM.

Changes in the weekly routine

Train operations will be 6 days a week:

  • The morning train from Katra will not operate on Tuesdays.
  • The afternoon train will not operate on Wednesdays.

Know the Vande Bharat fare

According to IRCTC, passengers will have the option of traveling in two classes – Chair Car and Executive Class.

Morning train fare:

Chair Car – ₹715

Executive Class – ₹1320

Afternoon train fare:

Chair Car – ₹660

Executive Class – ₹1270

This fare makes this state-of-the-art train affordable, especially for passengers who want a comfortable journey with time savings.

Only one stop: Banihal

Currently, this train will only stop at Banihal station. As the Jammu station redevelopment work is completed, this service will be extended directly from Srinagar to Jammu.

Train equipped with special technology

The route from Katra to Srinagar passes through high-altitude areas where temperatures can reach -8 to -10 degrees Celsius in winter. Several special technologies have been adopted to maintain the train's efficiency in this challenging climate.

  2. Military Grade System: These coaches are designed based on military technology to ensure the train functions normally even in freezing temperatures.
