Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during a one-day visit to Ayodhya on Thursday, recalled historical events involving Ram devotees, comparing them to the current situation. He said, "Once, pilgrims coming to Ayodhya were met with gunfire; today, they are showered with flowers. They are now provided with purified RO water."
Adityanath made these remarks while addressing a program held at Ram Katha Park to commemorate the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation's board completing two years. He stated that Ayodhya is now setting a new definition of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' (guests are like Gods) and becoming a model for the world.
Program Commences with Tree Plantation
The Chief Minister inaugurated the program by planting a sapling at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Pushp Vatika. He then participated in the main ceremony at Ram Katha Park, extending greetings on Ganga Dussehra, Saryu Mahotsav, and World Environment Day. Yogi praised the Municipal Corporation's efforts in environmental protection and urban development.
‘500-Year Wait Ends’: Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla Described as a Historic Moment
CM Yogi described the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi as a symbol of India's cultural renaissance. He stated that this historic event, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024, concluded a long wait of 500 years.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and expressed satisfaction over the recent establishment of seven other temples and deities there.
Highlighting the Religious Significance of Saryu and Ganga
Addressing the Saryu Mahotsav on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra, CM Yogi emphasized the deep connection between the Saryu River and Lord Shri Ram. He said, "Ayodhya's identity is incomplete without Mother Saryu."
He explained that this sacred river has been revered by Ayodhyawasis and devotees for thousands of years. He also highlighted the importance of the Ganga, stating, "Mother Ganga irrigates not only India but also the most fertile lands in the world."
‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’: A Special Message on Environment Day
On World Environment Day, the Chief Minister specifically mentioned the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign. He said, "If every person plants a tree in their mother's name, there will be no possibility of an environmental crisis."
The Chief Minister shared that he himself planted a Bel tree at his Lucknow residence and has planted Peepal, Pakar, Neem, and Navgraha trees on the banks of the Saryu in Ayodhya.
Open Appreciation of Ayodhya's Development Works
CM Yogi praised the development work of the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, stating that in the past two years, it has done remarkable work in environmental protection, cleanliness, and infrastructure development.
He said that Ayodhya is now making its mark on the global stage not only religiously but also culturally, spiritually, and environmentally.
