Bengaluru Stampede: 11 Dead After RCB Victory Parade; BJP Demands CM's Resignation

Eleven Deaths in Bengaluru Stampede During RCB Victory Parade. BJP Blames Congress Government, Demands CM and Deputy CM's Resignation.

RCB Victory Parade Stampede: The stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium following Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) victory parade in Bengaluru has escalated into a political storm. Eleven people died and dozens were injured in the incident, prompting b criticism from the opposition, particularly the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), against the ruling Congress government.

The BJP termed the incident not merely an accident but a consequence of government negligence and internal power struggles. Party spokesperson Sambit Patra also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his whereabouts during the tragedy.

Serious Allegations Against the Government: "Not Just a Stampede, a Government-Created Tragedy"

The BJP claimed that this was not a simple stampede but a "government-created tragedy" resulting from the alleged infighting between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. The party alleged inadequate crowd management and poor event control.

Party spokespeople stated that the government showed gross negligence in organizing the event. The stadium's capacity is approximately 35,000, yet how did 2-3 lakh people gather? Was permission granted for such a large crowd? The government remains silent on these questions.

Questions Raised Against Rahul Gandhi and Congress Leadership

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra directly criticized the Congress leadership, questioning Rahul Gandhi's whereabouts during the loss of life. He demanded that Gandhi take cognizance of the incident and summon the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to Delhi.

Demand for Chief Minister and Deputy CM's Resignation

The BJP asserted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar should resign immediately, taking moral responsibility for the incident. They also demanded an apology from D.K. Shivakumar to the public. The party emphasized the need for accountability in this tragedy.

Crowd Control Failure: Who is Responsible?

The BJP questioned how such a large crowd gained access to the stadium premises. Was there any prior planning by the police or other agencies? The party accuses the local administration and state government of negligence.

Questions Raised Against IPL Chairman

The BJP pointed out that IPL chairman Arun Dhumal stated he was unaware of the victory parade. This highlights the alleged mismanagement and lack of coordination in organizing such a large-scale event.

Questions on Black Marketing and Ticket Distribution

The BJP alleged that 25,000 extra tickets were sold for the event, leading to an uncontrollable crowd and the resulting stampede. The party demanded an impartial investigation and strict action against those responsible.

"People Were Dying While Selfies Were Being Taken"

The BJP launched another scathing attack, highlighting the fact that selfies and celebrations continued within the stadium complex while people were losing their lives in the stampede. The party deemed this highly insensitive, exposing the government's lack of empathy.

Citing a past case, the BJP noted that actor Allu Arjun was arrested in a stampede case. Therefore, they questioned why action should not be taken against D.K. Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah in this instance.
