The meteorological department forecasts changing weather conditions in the coming days, with heatwaves affecting some areas, while others face alerts for rain, thunderstorms, and heavy downpours.

India is currently experiencing a peak heatwave. Temperatures have significantly risen in various parts due to heatwaves and hot winds, impacting daily life. However, the influence of western disturbances is expected to bring light rain and snowfall to some regions in the coming days, while heatwave conditions in North India may worsen. According to the meteorological department's forecast, weather conditions will vary considerably from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and other states.

Heatwave Alert for Delhi-NCR

No significant weather change is expected in Delhi-NCR today, April 24th. The weather will remain dry and hot, with maximum temperatures reaching 40-42 degrees Celsius. The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has issued a heatwave alert for this region. People are advised to exercise extreme caution, especially during the afternoon hours, when venturing outdoors. Humidity levels will remain low, minimizing the feeling of stickiness.

Considering the heatwave conditions in Delhi, people are advised to stay indoors. Children, the elderly, and individuals with health issues are particularly vulnerable.

Heat and Rain Alert for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will also experience the effects of heat for the next few days. Maximum temperatures in eastern Uttar Pradesh may reach 41-43 degrees Celsius. Western Uttar Pradesh will experience heatwaves, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, and Agra. However, light rain and thunderstorms are possible in some eastern districts. The IMD has issued an alert for thunderstorms and light rain.

Bihar will also experience mixed weather conditions. Light rain and thunderstorms with b winds are expected in some districts. Maximum temperatures in cities like Patna, Gaya, and Bhagalpur will range from 38-40 degrees Celsius. Warnings for rain, thunderstorms, and lightning have been issued for West Champaran, Kishanganj, and Araria.

Heatwave Sweeping Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab

Rajasthan will experience extreme heat. Temperatures in cities like Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Bikaner may reach 44-46 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department has issued warnings for heatwaves and hot nights. Temperatures in Jaipur and Kota will hover around 42 degrees Celsius. While some parts of Rajasthan may see light cloud cover, the likelihood of rain is minimal.

Madhya Pradesh will also continue to experience extreme heat. Temperatures in Bhopal and Gwalior may reach 40-42 degrees Celsius. Heatwave conditions will persist in some eastern regions, while light rain is possible in areas bordering Chhattisgarh. The meteorological department has issued a heatwave warning for Madhya Pradesh from April 21st to 25th.

Heatwave conditions will prevail in Punjab and Haryana. Maximum temperatures in cities like Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Hisar will range between 40-42 degrees Celsius. Strong dust storms are also anticipated in these areas, but the chances of rain are low.

Snowfall Alert for Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh

The effects of western disturbances will be felt in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Pleasant weather is expected in these areas. Light rain and snowfall are anticipated in Srinagar and Gulmarg. Heavy rain and snowfall alerts have been issued for Shimla, Kullu, and Lahaul-Spiti. These regions may experience rain and snowfall with b winds up to 40-50 km/hour.

Heavy Rainfall in Northeast States

Light rain is also possible in coastal areas of Odisha. Maximum temperatures in cities like Ranchi and Jamshedpur will range from 38-40 degrees Celsius, with thunderstorms and rain possible in some areas.
