The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather forecast today stating that while northwest states will receive some respite from heatwave conditions, rainfall activity will intensify in the northeast and southern parts of the country. A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal will continue to cause weather disturbances in coastal and eastern India.
Delhi-NCR Weather Today
The national capital Delhi and NCR (Noida, Ghaziabad) will experience relief from the heatwave today. The weather will remain mildly warm, but daytime cloud cover and b winds blowing at 30-40 km/h will keep the temperature relatively cool. The maximum temperature today may remain around 36°C and the minimum around 22°C. People are advised to stay hydrated and avoid venturing out during the afternoon.
Punjab and Haryana Weather
The intensity of the heat may decrease slightly in Punjab and Haryana, but the weather will remain dry. The maximum temperature may reach 36-38°C and the minimum 21°C. Dusty winds are likely in some areas. Farmers are advised to remain vigilant regarding crop management.
Pleasant Weather in Himachal Pradesh
The weather will remain pleasant in Shimla, Manali, and other hill areas of Himachal Pradesh. Light rain or drizzle is expected in higher altitudes. The maximum temperature may range from 22-24°C and the minimum from 9-11°C.
Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Weather
Jammu will experience hot and dry weather, while light rain is likely in Srinagar. The temperature in Leh may drop to -1°C, and snowfall is expected in higher areas.
