The UPSC has specified a dress code for candidates. On examination day, wear light-colored, simple clothing without large logos or prints. Half-sleeve shirts or kurtas and simple trousers or salwar-kameez are acceptable. Candidates are advised to avoid clothing with numerous pockets, badges, brooches, or metallic embellishments.

Sandals or slippers are recommended footwear. Avoid shoes with thick soles, heels, or hidden compartments. Only analog watches are permitted during the examination. Digital watches, smartwatches, or fitness bands are strictly prohibited. Hats, scarves, sunglasses, and large jewelry should also be avoided.
