In the 14th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025, Delhi Capitals thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 9 wickets, securing their playoff berth. Delhi dominated the match played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, handing RCB their fourth consecutive defeat of the season.

Perry's innings included three sixes and three fours, making her the highest run-scorer of the season.

Besides Perry, Raghavi Bishta (33 runs, 32 balls) also contributed significantly, but RCB managed only 147/5 in 20 overs. For Delhi, Shikha Pandey and Sri Charani took two wickets each, while all-rounder Marizanne Kapp took one wicket.

Shefali and Jonassen's Explosive Partnership

Chasing a target of 148 runs, Delhi Capitals also had a shaky start. Captain Meg Lanning (2 runs, 12 balls) returned to the pavilion early, but then Shefali Verma and Jess Jonassen wreaked havoc on the RCB bowlers. Shefali Verma played a whirlwind innings of 80 runs off just 43 balls, including 8 fours and 4 towering sixes.

Meanwhile, Jess Jonassen smashed 61 runs off 38 balls, securing the victory for Delhi in 15.3 overs. The duo shared an unbroken 146-run partnership for the second wicket, sealing RCB's defeat. For RCB, Renuka Singh Thakur took the only wicket, but all other bowlers looked helpless against Delhi's onslaught.

Delhi Capitals in the Playoffs

With this victory, Delhi Capitals secured their place in the WPL 2025 playoffs, while RCB's fourth consecutive defeat has made their playoff prospects extremely difficult. Bengaluru now needs not only to win their remaining matches by significant margins but also depend on the performance of other teams.
