BSE Shares Surge 17%, Driven by NSE Decision and Bonus Share Announcement. 42% Recovery from March 11th Low, Share Price Crosses ₹5,000. Significant Gains for Investors.

BSE Share Price: BSE Limited's stock experienced a significant surge on Friday, March 28th, 2025. In early trading, the company's shares climbed by as much as 14%. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), BSE shares opened at ₹5,000, compared to Thursday's closing price of ₹4,684.35.

NSE Decision Provides Support to BSE Shares

This surge in BSE shares followed a circular issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The circular announced the postponement of the NSE's plan to shift the expiry date of its contracts from Thursday to Monday. Currently, BSE and NSE have expiry dates for individual stock and index derivative contracts on Tuesdays and Thursdays, respectively. This system was formally implemented in January 2025.

BSE Stock Jumps 17% in Two Days

BSE shares have risen a total of 17% over the past two trading sessions. A major contributing factor to this surge is the company's announcement of its consideration to issue bonus shares at a meeting scheduled for March 30th, 2025. BSE made this announcement after market close on March 26th.

Second Bonus Issue Consideration in Three Years

According to NSE corporate action data, this marks the second time in three years that BSE Limited is considering issuing bonus shares. Previously, the company issued bonus shares at a 2:1 ratio, giving each shareholder two additional shares for every share held.

BSE Outperforms Nifty 50

By 10:50 AM on Friday, BSE shares had jumped ₹796.90 (17.01%), reaching ₹5,481.25. In contrast, the Nifty 50 index saw a mere 0.11% increase during the same period. NSE data shows that 3.78 million BSE equity shares were traded in the first 21 minutes of trading.

42% Recovery from March 11th Low

BSE shares hit a low of ₹3,682 on March 11th, 2025, but have since recovered 42%. On January 20th, 2025, the stock reached its record high of ₹6,133.40. This remarkable surge has yielded substantial profits for investors, and further upside potential is anticipated in the coming days.
