Overcoming Adversity:
When Saturn is displeased, life often becomes filled with troubles. Therefore, it is crucial to know remedies to avoid the negative effects of Saturn's inauspicious gaze. Jyotish Shastra outlines several simple remedies that can help you avoid Saturn's negative influence.
1. Avoid looking at any statue of Saturn, where only his eyes are visible.
2. On every Saturday, wear red clothes and recite Hanuman Chalisa before Hanuman Ji.
3. In the evening, face the west, light a lamp, and chant Saturn's mantra.
4. Treat family members and associates with kindness.
5. Use the color blue more often.
6. On Saturdays, feed a black dog bread soaked in mustard oil. If a black dog isn't available, any dog will suffice.
7. Mix black sesame seeds in water and perform a jalabhishek (water offering) to Lord Shiva. It is believed that Saturn respects those who worship Lord Shiva and protects them from their troubles.
8. Light a mustard oil lamp beneath a Peepal tree. Also, light a lamp at a nearby Saturn temple.
9. Donate mustard oil, black sesame seeds, iron, black lentils, and black clothes to those in need.
10. Worship Hanuman Ji. It is said that those who worship Hanuman Ji are not troubled by Saturn. Light a lamp before Hanuman Ji and recite Hanuman Chalisa on this day.
11. Perform seven circumambulations around a Peepal tree, chanting the mantra "Om Sham Shanischaraaya Namah." This practice should be done not only on Guru Purnima, but also on Saturdays.
