Wednesday Rituals to Please Lord Ganesha and Overcome Obstacles
Reprinted Content:
Lord Ganesha is revered as the remover of all obstacles and difficulties. In Hinduism, among the five principal deities – Surya, Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti, and Ganesha – Lord Ganesha is worshipped first. This is because his blessings are sought for fulfilling material, worldly, and spiritual desires. He is therefore known as Ganapati (Lord of the Ganas) and Mangalmurti (the auspicious one). Lord Ganesha is himself the grantor of prosperity and success. He alleviates impediments, hardships, illnesses, and poverty from the lives of his devotees. According to scriptures, Wednesday is considered an auspicious day for worshipping Lord Ganesha. In Hinduism, it is customary to worship Lord Ganesha before commencing any auspicious undertaking. He is known as Vighnaharta (remover of obstacles) because he is believed to remove all hindrances. If you wish to appease Lord Ganesha, several methods are outlined in the scriptures to fulfill your wishes. Let's explore these remedies to achieve your desires.
To please Lord Ganesha, lead a virtuous life. Offer him incense, lamps, vermillion (sindoor), sacred thread (janeu), rice, durva grass, modak (sweet dumplings), and water. On Wednesday evenings, adorn Lord Ganesha with sindoor. Offer him a lamp made of pure ghee and yellow clothes. Next, offer eleven yellow flowers and eleven modaks. Sit on a yellow mat and chant the mantra "Om Vighnarhartaye Namah."
Acquiring Children's Happiness:
Offer red fruits to Lord Ganesha. Then sit on a red mat facing east. Recite the "Santana Strota" and chant the mantra "Om Umapathraya Namah" 108 times. Perform this ritual every Wednesday. Once your wish is granted, offer a feast of ten laddoos (sweet balls) and distribute the prasad (blessed food) to needy children.
Strengthening Financial Status:
On Wednesdays, apply a red vermillion (sindoor) tilak on Lord Ganesha and then apply the same tilak to your forehead. This practice is believed to fulfill all your desires.
Successful Home Acquisition:
If you desire to purchase a home, offer a garland of red flowers to Lord Ganesha every Wednesday. Subsequently, offer red fruits, red garments, and a copper coin. Recite the mantras dedicated to Ganesha.
Daily Offering of Five Durva Grass Stalks:
A simple way to please Lord Ganesha is to offer five durva grass stalks daily after your morning bath and prayers. The durva should be placed on Lord Ganesha's forehead, not at his feet. While offering the durva, chant the mantra "Idam Durvadalam Om Gam Ganapataye Namah."
Overcoming Job-Related Difficulties:
If you are facing challenges in finding employment or have job-related worries, bring a yellow statue of Lord Ganesha to your home shrine on a Wednesday. Tie five knots of uncooked turmeric around his feet. Recite the mantra "Shri Ganadhipataye Namah". Thereafter, take 108 durva stalks, apply turmeric to them, and chant the mantra "Shri Gajavaktrama Namo Namah".
