Marathi people establish a Gudi (a pot adorned with yellow or red cloth on a bamboo stick, along with mango and neem leaves, flowers, and an inverted pot) outside their homes. In Karnataka, Gudi Padwa is called 'Ugadi'. On this day, people perform Panchang reading and worship deities. A special dish called 'Bevu-Bella', a combination of neem and jaggery symbolizing bitterness and sweetness of life, is offered as Prasad.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Here, Gudi Padwa is known as 'Ugadi'. People wear new clothes, perform pujas, and prepare a special dish called 'Ugadi Pachadi'. This Pachadi is a mix of raw mango, jaggery, neem, tamarind, and chili, representing the various colors of life.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

In these states, where there is a significant Marathi population, Gudi Padwa is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm. Cultural programs and religious rituals are organized.
