Weekly Vrat Tyohar: From April 14th to April 20th, 2025, the weekly Vrat Tyohar (religious observances and festivals) holds significant importance according to the Hindu Panchang (calendar). This first week of the Vaisakha month is considered extremely sacred. This week will see the celebration of major festivals like Mesha Sankranti, Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi, Masik Krishna Janmashtami, and Kalashtami, all of which hold special significance in Sanātana Dharma (Hinduism).

Mesha Sankranti 2025 – April 14th

Mesha Sankranti is a festival based on the Sun God's transit into a new zodiac sign, when the Sun moves from Pisces into Aries. This year, it falls on April 14th, 2025. This day also marks the beginning of the solar new year according to the Hindu Nav Samvatsar.

🔸 Significance: Performing rituals like bathing, charity (daan), and worshipping the Sun God on this day is believed to bestow special merit.
🔸 Recommended Daan (Charity): Wheat, jaggery, copper, and red cloth.

Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi – April 16th, 2025

Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi is a fast dedicated to Lord Ganesha, believed to alleviate difficulties. The Chaturthi Tithi (fourth day) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the Vaisakha month falls on April 16th, starting at 1:16 PM and ending on April 17th at 3:23 PM.

🔸 Fasting Method: The fast is observed, and the vrata is broken after viewing the moon at night.
🔸 Puja Time: After moonrise, perform Ganesha Aarti and offer Modak (sweet dumplings).

Masik Krishna Janmashtami & Kalashtami – April 20th, 2025

Both Masik Krishna Janmashtami and Kalashtami fall on the Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) of the Krishna Paksha of the Vaisakha month.

🔹 Ashtami Tithi Begins: 7:00 PM on April 20th
🔹 Ashtami Tithi Ends: 6:58 PM on April 21st
🔸 Masik Janmashtami: Lord Krishna is worshipped at night. Devotees observe a fast and perform night vigil.
🔸 Kalashtami: Lord Kala Bhairava is worshipped. It's especially significant for protection from negative energies and overcoming fear.
