Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's film Chhaava is creating a storm at the box office. It's on the verge of setting a new record, currently just ₹41 crore away from surpassing the lifetime collections of films like Jawan, Kabir Singh, Sultan, and Dangal.
Chhaava Box Office Collection: The year 2025 has brought significant changes to Bollywood, but Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna have been the biggest beneficiaries. Rashmika Mandanna, having transitioned from South Indian cinema, has delivered back-to-back superhits with 'Pushpa 2' and 'Chhaava', while 'Chhaava' is proving to be a landmark film in Vicky Kaushal's career.
Chhaava Becomes the New Box Office Sensation
Directed by Lakshman Utekar, Chhaava had a phenomenal opening, collecting ₹33 crore on its first day. The film has consistently performed exceptionally well, surpassing the lifetime collections of several blockbuster films. Chhaava has already broken the records of films like Jawan, Animal, Sultan, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Its next target is to surpass 2023's biggest blockbuster, Gadar 2.
Chhaava's Earnings and New Target
According to Bollywood Hungama, Chhaava has earned ₹484 crore domestically and ₹661 crore worldwide in 20 days. Gadar 2 had a lifetime collection of ₹525 crore. This means Chhaava needs just ₹41 crore more to break Gadar 2's domestic record.
Gadar 2's Worldwide Record Also in Danger
Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel starrer Gadar 2 earned a total of ₹691 crore worldwide. Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava is very close to this figure. If the film continues its current momentum, it could soon shatter Gadar 2's worldwide record as well.
The Film's Story Captivates the Audience
Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a Maratha warrior king, and his battles against the Mughals. The film depicts how he refused to bow before Aurangzeb to protect his kingdom (Swarajya). Vicky Kaushal's intense portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj is breathtaking and leaves a lasting impact on the audience.
Will Chhaava Create History?
The question now is whether Chhaava will break Gadar 2's record and create new history in the coming days. The film's b box office performance and the overwhelming audience response suggest that it may soon join the ranks of Bollywood's highest-grossing films.
