Delhi Budget 2025: The BJP government in Delhi presented its maiden budget on Tuesday. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the historic ₹1 trillion budget. The BJP considers this a revolutionary step, reflecting a solid commitment to fulfilling its electoral promises. The budget is expected to accelerate Delhi's development and improve the living standards of its citizens.

BJP workers to actively promote the budget

Amidst opposition criticism, the BJP plans to disseminate accurate information about the budget to the public. BJP workers will conduct door-to-door campaigns, highlighting key announcements and explaining the government's efforts to enhance existing policies. Awareness programs will be organized across districts to ensure public understanding.

Aiming for smart infrastructure and traffic-free Delhi The government has allocated ₹3,843 crore to create a traffic-free Delhi with smart infrastructure. This prioritizes the development of expressways, elevated corridors, and modern surveillance systems.

New Industrial Policy and Investment Summit

To facilitate business in Delhi, the government will introduce a new industrial policy and a warehouse policy. A single-window system will streamline processes for businesses. Furthermore, Delhi will host its first-ever Global Investment Summit. A Traders Welfare Board will also be established.

Special focus on Yamuna cleaning and rejuvenation

₹500 crore has been allocated for the cleaning of the Yamuna River. The plan is to clean and rejuvenate the Yamuna, modeled on the Sabarmati Riverfront. An additional ₹750 crore has been allocated for the establishment of 40 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and the replacement of old sewer lines.

₹9,000 crore for clean drinking water

The government has allocated ₹9,000 crore for clean drinking water supply and water sanitation projects.

₹5,100 crore for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana

The government has allocated ₹5,100 crore to provide ₹2,500 per month to poor women, empowering them financially.

₹10 lakh health insurance

Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Delhi residents will receive ₹10 lakh health insurance coverage – ₹5 lakh from the central government and ₹5 lakh from the Delhi government. ₹2,144 crore has been allocated for this scheme.

₹12,952 crore for the transportation sector

₹1,000 crore has been allocated to improve transportation within the Delhi NCR. To enhance transparency, the government will issue cards instead of pink tickets for the free bus travel scheme for women.

An international film festival will be held in Delhi with a budget of ₹30 crore to promote culture and arts.

New initiatives to improve education

The 'CM Shri School' scheme will be implemented in line with the new education policy. A budget of ₹100 crore has been allocated for this. Narela will be developed as a new education hub. Additionally, 1,200 students will receive free laptops.

Plan to open 100 Atal Canteens

To provide affordable and nutritious food to the poor in Delhi, 100 Atal Canteens will be opened, offering nutritious meals for ₹5. A budget of ₹100 crore has been allocated for this scheme.
