A horrific road accident occurred in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday night. A vehicle carrying pilgrims returning from the Maha Kumbh mela went out of control and crashed into a house on the highway. Four people died at the scene, and five others sustained injuries.
Pratapgarh: A devastating road accident in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday night resulted in the death of four pilgrims returning from the Maha Kumbh mela and injured five others. The accident took place near Baburha crossing on the Prayagraj-Ayodhya highway in the Kotwali Dehat area when a Mahindra TUV300 veered off the road and crashed into a house. It is believed the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
Driver Falling Asleep Cited as Cause of Accident
According to reports, the accident occurred because the driver fell asleep. The Mahindra TUV vehicle was traveling from Prayagraj when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to directly crash into a house. The impact was so severe that the car was severely damaged, leading to immediate cries and commotion. Local residents quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to the district hospital. Doctors stated that three of the injured are in critical condition and have been referred to Prayagraj. Meanwhile, a couple sleeping in the house sustained minor injuries and are reported to be stable.
