Student Admitted to Hospital in Critical Condition

According to eyewitnesses, fellow students and staff rushed the injured student to the nearby NSMCH Hospital in Bihta. Despite immediate medical attention, the student, Rahul Lavery, succumbed to his injuries. Lavery was a third-year B.Sc. Mathematics and Computer Science student at IIT Patna and hailed from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The unfortunate incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the institution.

Police and Administration Respond to the Scene

Local police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. Officers are questioning the student's friends and teachers to ascertain the possible reasons behind the suicide. IIT Patna's director, Professor T.N. Singh, also visited the site, expressing deep sorrow over the incident. He urged students facing any mental stress to utilize the institution's counseling services.

This incident once again raises questions about mental health and stress management among students in higher education institutions. The academic and personal pressures faced by students in prestigious institutions like IITs can contribute to mental health challenges.
