The Waqf Board in Barabanki has claimed ownership of 812 properties listed in government records. These properties include graveyards, Eidgahs, madrasas, shops, and Karbalas, out of a total of 5011 properties.

Waqf Bill: In Uttar Pradesh, the Waqf Board has claimed ownership of 812 properties recorded in government records. These include graveyards, mosques, shops, and other properties. The Waqf Board asserts that these properties belong to it under Section 37. A new survey will be conducted to investigate further government land, and action will be taken upon receiving orders from the government.

A report submitted by the Revenue Department to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) stated that the total area of these 812 properties is approximately 108 hectares. The Waqf Board maintains that it has the right to these properties and that they are recorded in its records.

Details of Waqf Board Properties

Of the 812 properties, 614 are graveyards, 15 are Eidgahs, 6 are madrasas, 12 are shops, and 70 are Karbalas. In addition, there are 33 mazars, 43 mosques, 5 dargahs, 1 pathshala, 1 playground, and 1 barren land under Waqf possession.

Actual Waqf Board Properties

Furthermore, the Waqf Board possesses a total of 5011 properties, including mazars, mosques, Karbalas, dargahs, graveyards, shops, and other lands. The majority of these properties belong to Sunni Waqf (4863), while Shia Waqf properties number 148.

District-wise Property Details

The status of lands under the Waqf Board's possession in various tehsil areas of the district has also been revealed. In Nawabganj, 76 properties occupy 9.167 hectares, in Ramnagar 34 properties occupy 5.157 hectares, and in Ramsanehighat 285 properties occupy 49.042 hectares of land.

Government Action

The District Minority Welfare Officer, B.K. Dwivedi, stated that a resurvey of Waqf properties will be conducted upon receiving instructions from the government. The police, BSA, and Revenue Department will be instructed for this purpose, and action will be taken as soon as orders are received.
