Two significant initiatives have commenced in Bhagalpur district, Bihar, aimed at strengthening industrial and healthcare infrastructure. These projects will not only boost industrial development in the district but also ensure employment opportunities and improved healthcare access for the local population.
Industrial Circle Development under PPP Model
The Bihar State Industrial Development Corporation Limited (BCICL) is planning the development of an industrial circle under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. To facilitate this, the Bihar Spon Silk Mill land in Bahadurpur has been proposed for commercial use. The Managing Director of BCICL has written to the Additional District Magistrate (SDO) of Bhagalpur regarding this proposal.
This initiative will lead to the establishment of new industries in Bhagalpur, creating employment opportunities for local youth. Furthermore, increased commercial activity will stimulate the district's economy.
Land Requirement for ESIC Hospital Construction
Plans are also underway to construct an Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital in Bhagalpur. The Secretary of the Labour Department, Deepak Anand, has written to the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur requesting land allocation for this purpose. Previously, land in Sabour Mauza was identified for the ESIC hospital, but it was deemed unsuitable due to its low-lying location.
The department now requires 5.5 acres of undisputed and encroachment-free land with convenient road access and no high-voltage transmission lines.
New Dimensions in Healthcare and Industrial Development
Upon securing suitable land, the Employees' State Insurance Corporation will establish a hospital, dispensary, and branch office. This hospital will provide advanced medical services not only to industrial workers but also to the general public. The completion of these two crucial projects will strengthen Bhagalpur's industrial and healthcare infrastructure, providing employment and improved healthcare access to the local population. This initiative by the government and administration represents a significant step towards the district's development.
