The process for obtaining Green Cards for vehicles traveling to the Char Dham Yatra officially commenced on Friday. The initiation of this crucial annual pre-Yatra procedure began with a prayer ceremony at the ARTO office.
Green Card: Preparations for the 2025 Char Dham Yatra are now in full swing. This year, keeping pilgrims' convenience in mind, the Transportation Department formally launched the Green Card process on Friday. Following a prayer ceremony at the ARTO office, the process involves technical inspection and document verification to deem vehicles suitable for the pilgrimage.
Two Counters Processing Applications, Strict Document Verification
ARTO Administrator Rawat Singh Kataria stated that Green Cards are mandatory for all private and commercial vehicles participating in the Char Dham Yatra. This involves thorough checks of vehicle fitness, pollution certificates, valid insurance, registration certificates, and driving licenses. Two dedicated counters have been established in the office: one for document registration and the other for issuing Green Cards.
Strict Arrangements for Pilgrim Convenience
Employees have received specific instructions for crowd control and efficient service. Kataria reported that hundreds of vehicle owners arrived on the first day to obtain Green Cards. He urged pilgrims to apply in advance to avoid delays during the Yatra.
Commencement with Prayers, Wishing for a Blessed Journey
The commencement of the Green Card process with prayers aims to ensure a safe and auspicious journey. The administration described this initiative as a positive message for pilgrims, stating that this system will help make the pilgrimage smoother and more organized. Considering the popularity of the Char Dham Yatra and the large number of pilgrims, the Transportation Department appealed to all vehicle owners to apply for Green Cards in advance with the necessary documents. Timely completion of the process will not only avoid crowds but also prevent unforeseen disruptions during the journey.
