Begusarai News: Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday made a b statement regarding the recent violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal. He directly criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that Hindus in Bengal are not safe and are being forced to leave the state.
Giriraj Singh's Attack
Giriraj Singh stated, "It is unfortunate that this is happening under the Mamata government. The atrocities against Hindus in the state are alarming. Protecting Hindus, along with Muslims, is the Chief Minister's responsibility." He demanded that the government ensure the safety of both communities.
Violence During Waqf Act Protest
Giriraj Singh claimed that the recent violence in Murshidabad occurred during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act. He said, "When people protested against the Act, violence erupted, causing significant damage to public property."
It is noteworthy that the Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on April 2nd and 3rd respectively. Protests have erupted in several areas since then.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal Also Condemns Mamata Government
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal also launched a sharp attack on the Mamata government regarding this matter. He stated, "Freedom of expression is being suppressed in West Bengal, and the government remains a silent spectator. This violence indicates either the government's incompetence or a deliberate refusal to act."
