The Haryana government is offering a 75% subsidy on solar pumps. Farmers can apply through the Saral portal until April 21st. Farmers with existing electricity connections will be prioritized, and a site survey will be conducted.

Haryana Solar Pump Yojana 2025: The Haryana government has launched a significant initiative to promote solar energy in the state's agricultural sector. Under this scheme, farmers installing 3 HP, 7.5 HP, and 10 HP solar energy pumps are eligible for a subsidy of up to 75%. This scheme is being implemented by the Haryana Renewable Energy Department (HAREDA).

Application Process and Eligibility

Farmers can apply online through the Saral portal (saralharyana.gov.in) until April 21, 2025. Applicants with electricity-based tubewells will be given preference, but they will need to surrender their existing electricity connection.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma, farmers who applied for electricity-based tubewells (1 HP to 10 HP) between 2019 and 2023 will be eligible for this scheme and will be prioritized under the Pradhan Mantri KUSUM Yojana (PM-KUSUM).

No Need to Reapply for These Applicants

Farmers who applied between February 20th and March 5th, 2024, and July 11th and July 25th, 2024, do not need to reapply. These farmers can complete the process by depositing the beneficiary share as per their old challan. If a farmer has applied more than once, only the first application will be considered valid.

Survey and Installation Process

Under the scheme, the concerned company will conduct a site survey of the farmers' fields. During the survey, farmers must carefully select their pump head (low, medium, high), as the discharge capacity depends on the head. The pump will come with a 5-year warranty, but the warranty will be void in case of any tampering, relocation, or misuse. In such cases, the subsidy amount will have to be returned to the government. Serious cases may also lead to an FIR.

Additional Conditions for Eligible Farmers

Only farmers fulfilling the following conditions can avail the benefits of this scheme:

- Those irrigating using diesel pumps or generator sets.

- Those using micro-irrigation systems such as drip, sprinkler, or underground pipelines.

- Those whose annual family income and landholding meet the eligibility criteria of the scheme.
