Prime Minister Modi Accuses Stalin of Hypocrisy Regarding Tamil Language Pride

PM-Modi: On April 6th, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Pamban Rail Bridge in Rameshwaram. Following the inauguration, PM Modi launched a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and his party, the DMK, during a rally.

Questioning Stalin's Tamil Pride

PM Modi stated, "Ministers in Tamil Nadu boast about their pride in the Tamil language, yet their official correspondence is always signed in English. The question is, why don't they use Tamil?" He appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to introduce medical courses in Tamil, enabling underprivileged students unfamiliar with English to pursue medical careers.

Modi's Emphasis on Infrastructure Development

PM Modi highlighted that India's economy has doubled in the last ten years, largely due to modern infrastructure development. He emphasized significant investments in railways, roads, airports, and other essential infrastructure. He underscored the infrastructure investment in Tamil Nadu's development, stating that the state's rail budget has increased sevenfold since 2014, exceeding ₹6000 crore this year.

Tamil Nadu's Rail Budget Exceeds ₹6000 Crore

The Prime Minister explained that before 2014, Tamil Nadu received only ₹900 crore annually for its rail budget. This year, however, the allocation has surpassed ₹6000 crore. Furthermore, the central government is modernizing 77 railway stations, including Rameshwaram.

Tamil Nadu's Significant Contribution

Prime Minister Modi asserted that Tamil Nadu will play a crucial role in the development of a progressive India. He reiterated his commitment to prioritizing the state's infrastructure needs, noting that the state's rail budget has tripled this decade.
