Muslim Organizations Protest Waqf Amendment Bill in Patna; Lalu-Tejashwi Condemn it as Unconstitutional.

Waqf Bill Protest: A significant protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill unfolded in Patna, the capital of Bihar. On Wednesday, more than eight Muslim organizations, including the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), staged a sit-in demonstration at Gardanibagh. Muslim leaders from various states converged in Patna for this protest, denouncing the bill as an infringement on Muslim rights.

Strong Opposition from Muslim Organizations

This protest at Gardanibagh involved several prominent Muslim organizations, including Imarat-e-Sharia. Protesters accused the central government of attempting to undermine their religious and property rights. Thousands participated in the demonstration, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the bill.

Lalu-Tejashwi Join the Protest

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav also arrived at the protest site to show their support. Lalu Yadav criticized the central government, stating, "This bill is a conspiracy to eliminate the rights of Muslims; we will fight against it until the end." Tejashwi Yadav termed the bill unconstitutional, describing it as a manifestation of the government's authoritarian approach.

Pressure on Nitish Government

The protesters also appealed to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party, Janata Dal United (JDU), to bly oppose the bill in Parliament. They warned that the state government's silence on this issue could have repercussions in the upcoming elections.

Political Heat Intensifies

The Patna protest has heightened political tension in the state. Along with Muslim organizations, political parties are now openly engaging with the issue. This suggests the possibility of larger-scale movements against the bill in the coming days.
