Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, today for his 50th visit. He will address a public gathering during his visit.
Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Kashi, his parliamentary constituency, today for his 50th visit. This momentous occasion is marked by the inauguration and foundation stone laying of significant development projects. A total of 44 projects, worth approximately ₹3,880 crore, will be dedicated to the public. These projects encompass urban development, road construction, electricity, education, water supply, and security initiatives.
PM Modi's Varanasi Visit
The Prime Minister will be in Varanasi for approximately two and a half hours before noon. During this time, he will address a large public gathering in Mehdiganj. Notably, this gathering will be held outside the city limits on the ring road to ensure the participation of rural residents. The event has been scheduled for the morning to mitigate the impact of heat and traffic.
Key Projects to be Inaugurated
• 130 drinking water projects and 100 new Anganwadi centers
• 356 rural libraries, a polytechnic college, and a government degree college
• Inauguration of the Ramnagar police barracks, a transit hostel, and four rural roads
• Beautification work at prominent sites like Shashtri Ghat and Samne Ghat
• Railway and VDA urban planning initiatives
Projects for which Foundation Stones will be Laid
• 25 new projects costing ₹2,250 crore, including:
• 15 new power substations,
• 1,500 km of power lines,
• A new 220 KV Chaukaghat substation
• Three new flyovers
• Road widening and school renovation work,
• New stadiums at Shivpur and UP College.
Impeccable Security: Deployment of 4,000 Security Personnel
• A total of 4,000 security personnel have been deployed for the Prime Minister's program. This includes:
• 6 SPs, 8 Additional SPs, and 33 COs,
• Police, PAC, and paramilitary forces
• Surveillance through drones and CCTV cameras
• Temporary parking zones near the venue
• Snipers and surveillance teams deployed on rooftops.
Entry to the venue will be granted only after security checks and frisking. All security personnel have been instructed to maintain courteous behavior with the public. The residents of Kashi have made elaborate arrangements to welcome the Prime Minister, greeting him with conch shells, drums, and flower showers at various locations across the city.
