Once, a seeker asked a saint, "If God exists, why doesn't He reveal Himself?" The saint replied, "God is not an object; He is an experience. There is no way to see Him; however, experiencing Him is essential." But the seeker remained unsatisfied, his curiosity evident in his eyes.
Then, the saint picked up a large stone lying nearby and struck his own foot. The blow caused a deep wound, and blood began to flow. The seeker exclaimed, "What have you done? That must be painful! What madness is this?" The saint smiled and said, "Pain is not visible, yet it exists. Love is not visible, yet it exists. God is the same."
