A Chinese Tourist's Trip to India
A man from China arrived in India and took a taxi from the airport.
Seeing the slow-moving buses on the road, he remarked to the taxi driver that buses in India were very slow, while in China, they were much faster.
A few moments later, as they were crossing a railway bridge, the man saw a train passing overhead.
Turning to the driver, he commented that the trains here were also much slower compared to China, where trains ran at a much higher speed.
Throughout the journey, he made every effort to portray India as inferior to China in terms of speed, but the poor taxi driver remained silent throughout.
When the Chinese man reached his destination, he inquired about the meter reading and the taxi fare.
The taxi driver replied that it was twenty thousand rupees.
Hearing the fare, the Chinese man was astonished. He said, "Are you joking with me? Buses are slow in your country, trains are slow, everything is slow, yet the meter alone runs so fast… demanding twenty thousand rupees instead of five hundred?"
To this, the taxi driver calmly replied, "Sir… the meter is made in China."
