Once upon a time, the Sun and the Wind got into an argument one day. They debated fiercely about which of them possessed greater power. The Wind, with an arrogant and stubborn nature, was very proud of her strength. She believed that if she blew with great force, she could uproot the largest trees. Her moisture could accumulate the waters of rivers and lakes. Driven by this arrogance, the Wind challenged the Sun, saying, "I am more powerful than you. I can move anyone with my gusts."
The Sun refused to accept the Wind's boast, and calmly said, "One should never be proud of their own abilities." The Wind, offended by this, persisted in her claim of superiority. While they were arguing, they saw a man walking down the road, wearing a coat. An idea struck the Sun. He said to the Wind, "Whoever forces this man to take off his coat will be deemed the more powerful." The Wind agreed, saying, "Fine. I will try first. You hide in the clouds."
The Sun hid behind the clouds. Then, the Wind began to blow. It blew gently at first, but the man didn't remove his coat. Then, the Wind intensified its force. The man felt cold and pulled his coat tighter around himself. The cold and b wind continued to blow, but the man remained steadfast. Finally, the Wind grew tired and subsided. Now, it was the Sun's turn. He emerged from behind the clouds and began to shine, with a gentle warmth. As the warmth spread, the man felt the cold begin to lessen, and he loosened his coat. Then, the Sun's intensity increased, and the warmth grew ber.
The man felt the heat and promptly removed his coat. When the Wind saw this, she felt ashamed and acknowledged the Sun's victory. The arrogant Wind's pride had been humbled.
The lesson from this story is - One should never be arrogant about their own abilities or strength, for arrogance never leads to success.
