Presenting the renowned and inspiring story, The Blue Jackal.

Once upon a time, a fierce wind howled through the jungle. Seeking shelter from the gale, a jackal stood beneath a large tree. Suddenly, a heavy branch fell upon him, inflicting a severe wound on his head. Frightened, he scurried back to his den. The injury lingered for days, preventing him from hunting. Without food, the jackal grew weaker with each passing day. One day, gnawing hunger gripped him, and he spotted a deer. He chased the deer relentlessly, covering great distances, but exhaustion overtook him, and he failed to catch it. The entire day was spent wandering the empty jungle, but he found no dead animal to satisfy his hunger. Disheartened, the jackal decided to venture into the nearby village. He hoped to find a goat or a chicken chick to sustain him through the night.

In the village, while searching for prey, the jackal’s eyes fell upon a pack of dogs approaching him. Confused, he ran toward a washerwoman's area. The dogs barked relentlessly, hot on his heels. Seeking refuge, he hid inside a large drum, where indigo dye was being mixed. The dogs, failing to find him, moved on. The poor jackal spent the whole night cowering in the drum. As dawn broke, he emerged, his entire body stained blue. The clever jackal, observing his unusual color, conceived a cunning plan, and he returned to the jungle.

Upon reaching the jungle, he announced that he had a divine message to convey. He urged all the animals to gather together under a large tree. All the animals, drawn by the jackal’s unusual proclamation, assembled under the tree. Standing before the assembled creatures, the jackal declared, "Has anyone ever seen an animal of this blue hue? God has bestowed this unique color upon me and commanded that you rule the jungle. He has tasked you with guiding the animals of this forest.” All the animals readily agreed, responding in unison, "Speak, O King, what is your command?" The jackal declared, “All the jackals must leave this forest, for God has foreseen a great calamity within this forest due to the jackals." The animals, believing this to be a divine decree, drove all the jackals out of the forest. The blue jackal had taken this drastic measure to avoid exposing his deception.

Now, the blue jackal reigned supreme in the jungle. Peacocks fanned him with their tail feathers, and monkeys massaged his feet. When he craved a particular animal, he'd ask for its sacrifice. He never left his royal den, and all the animals served at his feet. One moonlit night, the jackal felt thirsty. Emerging from his den, he heard the familiar howls of jackals in the distance. Jackals howl at night; it's their nature. The blue jackal couldn't resist joining the chorus. His howls alerted the other animals, who noticed the familiar jackal sound. They realized that the blue jackal had deceived them, and they descended upon him, killing him.

This story teaches us an important lesson: We should never lie, for our deception will eventually be exposed. One cannot deceive others for long.
