Apple is gradually increasing its production in India. It has now been reported that the company will soon begin assembling AirPods in India, starting in April.
 
Apple is consistently expanding its production in India. Following the manufacture of iPhones in India, the company is now set to begin assembling AirPods domestically. Reports suggest that AirPods assembly will commence in India next month. This move is part of a strategy to reduce reliance on China, further strengthening India's position in electronics manufacturing.

According to a report, Apple will begin assembling AirPods at the Foxconn plant in Hyderabad next month. The company planned this project last year and is now implementing it. However, currently, AirPods manufactured in India will only be used for export and will not be available for sale in the Indian market.
 
Strategy to Increase Manufacturing in India
 
Apple is already producing iPhones in India, and all models of the recently launched iPhone 16 series are also being manufactured in India. The company has started manufacturing not only entry-level iPhones but also, for the first time, Pro models in India. This decision is a significant step towards making India an electronics manufacturing hub.
 
Apple Commenced Manufacturing in India in 2017
 
Apple began manufacturing in India in 2017 with the assembly of the iPhone SE. Subsequently, the company assembled iPhone 12, 13, 14, and 15 models in India. Notably, the Indian-made iPhone 15 was available for sale on the launch day itself. Now, with the iPhone 16 series, the company's production has further expanded.
 
Apple's Expansion Plans in India
 
Apple is continuously expanding its operations in India. The company already has two stores in India and is planning to open four more. Furthermore, the company is partnering with various local suppliers and manufacturing units to further increase its production in India. This move by Apple will contribute to establishing India as a global manufacturing hub.
