UP Politics: In the current political landscape of Uttar Pradesh, reports of tension between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies have been making headlines. Amidst this, Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav has launched a sharp attack on the BJP. Akhilesh has accused the BJP of using its allies and affiliated organizations under a "use and throw" policy.
Akhilesh Yadav's statement came at a time when activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a significant protest outside the residence of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief and state minister Om Prakash Rajbhar.
ABVP Protest at Rajbhar's Residence
The situation escalated when Om Prakash Rajbhar, in a statement, referred to ABVP activists as "goons." Angered by this remark, ABVP activists chanted slogans and created a disturbance outside his residence. Reports of clashes, stone-pelting, and vandalism of vehicles also emerged during this incident.
Arun Rajbhar, the son of Om Prakash Rajbhar, issued a video message condemning the protest. He alleged that the protesters not only hurled abuses but also misbehaved with the Rajbhar family and the police personnel deployed for security.
Akhilesh Yadav's Direct Attack
Reacting to this incident, Akhilesh Yadav stated that the BJP is creating infighting among its own allied organizations. He asserted that the BJP's strategy is to first utilize its allies and then sideline them once their utility diminishes.
Akhilesh sarcastically remarked that the BJP pushes its allies into a situation where they become hesitant to engage with their own communities. Their political base weakens, and gradually, they become "politically finished."
'Allies Joined for Financial Gain'
The SP chief further added that many of the BJP's allies joined the saffron party merely for financial benefits and a share in power. However, they are now realizing that the BJP will never grant them due respect. Akhilesh stated that while leaders might improve their financial condition by aligning with the BJP, their political and social dignity is always compromised.
Questions on Police Role
Akhilesh Yadav also shared a video in which police personnel were seen addressing ABVP activists as "brothers." Linking this to the BJP's internal politics, he alleged that senior officials are pushing junior police personnel forward to protect themselves.
He accused higher officials of sitting in air-conditioned rooms and merely saying "Yes Sir," while junior police officers on the ground have to face the confrontations between the BJP and its allied organizations.
ABVP Press Conference
All eyes are now on the ABVP's press conference regarding this entire controversy. The student organization has announced that they will interact with the press on this matter. It is expected that ABVP will clarify its stance and announce its future course of action against Om Prakash Rajbhar.
