The group had travelled from Ajmer to the Sanwaliya Seth Temple in Chittorgarh to celebrate Jayprakash Varlani’s birthday. During the trip, they also visited the Awari Mata Temple. After spending the day on the religious visit and celebrations, they began their return journey to Ajmer at around 6 pm.
Eyewitnesses and injured passengers reported that there was a celebratory atmosphere inside the vehicle during the journey, with passengers singing and dancing. Minutes before the crash, the song “Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana, Yahan Kal Kya Ho Kisne Jana” was playing when the vehicle lost control and collided with the trailer.
Local villagers reached the site immediately after the accident and began rescue operations. The injured were pulled out of the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara. Police and administrative teams also arrived at the scene and managed the situation.
The incident highlights risks associated with negligent driving and overtaking on highways. Experts state that high speed and improper overtaking are among the primary causes of road accidents on national highways in India. Overcrowding and neglect of safety standards during travel, including religious trips, are also cited as contributing factors.
